Sadly this seems relentlessly negative, over generalist and tied to the past. Of course it’s here to stay, some companies have said so. Probably what is really going to happen is that *some* companies will go back to the old ways of working and others will not. Those companies that cannot or will not embrace home working have limited resilience when there is another virus pandemic or even really bad weather or a transport strike. The companies that are resilient will be more likely to survive. Working from home is not necessarily an additional cost because people are likely to use their own equipment or the company already has laptops they can take home. If they are tied to physical devices that can only work from the office then this indicates are underlying lack of investment in IT which of course has been the demise of many a company. It’s not working from home which is your problem, it’s the lack of flexibility, innovation and trust in your employees.
